Ciao.

I founded Studio 1328 in Melbourne after studying architecture in Venice and working across Italy and Australia. The name comes from my address in Venice, number 1328, where my way of thinking about design first took shape.

I have more than 13 years of experience in residential and retail interiors, including my work as Store Designer at David Jones. Today I lead every Studio 1328 project personally, from the first brief to completion.

An architectural approach

Every project brings together four elements: your ideas, the space you have, the practical realities of budget and construction, and my expertise. My role is to see what’s possible and shape these elements into one clear, considered design.

Your needs shape the design.
Your references and ideas set the tone. My job is to understand what you truly need, and to bring the expertise that turns it into a design that works within your space, structure and budget.

The plan comes first.
I explore different layouts to uncover the potential of a space: how rooms connect, where light falls and how people move through it. Reviewing these options together helps you understand what is possible before we develop the details and finishes.

What’s already there has value.
Before adding anything new, I look at what deserves to stay. Existing features, materials and pieces often give a space its character, and keeping them is frequently the most sustainable choice.

Good design lasts.
From the overall space to the shape of a kitchen island, I consider proportion, function and detail. When these are well resolved, the design can accommodate different materials and finishes while retaining its character over time.

Design that can be built.
Budget and construction are part of the design from the start, not a problem to solve at the end. Clear decisions and careful documentation mean builders can deliver what was designed.

Beginning a project

It starts with a phone call about your plans, priorities, budget and timing, followed by a meeting on site. I then prepare a fee proposal with the recommended services and stages, and once we agree, we begin.
