FA Lawyer Office

About the project

The existing office was divided by two structural walls — a rigid tripartition that could have been a constraint. Instead, the walls were absorbed into a series of freestanding objects: a stone wall, an oak casework unit, a tall bookcase that turns on its back into a timber boiserie. Each one defines space without closing it.

The result is a fluid interior, punctuated by shifts in perspective and material. Stone, oak, and Corian sit together — monolithic and ethereal in equal measure. Opal glass runs between the objects, drawing light through every area of the plan.

The stone wall is composed of smooth slabs of varying size and thickness. The texture is quiet in daylight. In the evening, recessed floor spots activate the surface and the shadows it casts become part of the room.

In the waiting area, a gently curved wall in translucent Corian Glacier Ice offers a counterpoint to the weight of oak and stone — light where the other elements are grounded, soft where they are solid.
